About Us

S&J Supply Company first opened its “door” for business on March 2nd, 1987. A garage door. Inside the garage of a house went two desks, along with two pick-up trucks, Jim Wakefield and Steve Nieto began S&J. Both learned the business working at Parkson Pipeline Materials in Santa Fe Springs. Parkson being famously successful. Jim and Steve strove to model S&J consistently. What was lacking in start-up resources was more than compensated for by experience and determination.

Early success led to S&J Supply abandoning its residential birthplace. Moving into a 2,000 square foot business park unit in Buena Park. That early success also allowed for a key acquisition with the hiring of Danny Finnerty. Danny also learned the business at Parkson. S&J’s first true business address. While modest. Allowed it to begin operating like a typical business. Sales, inventory, relationships all grew exponentially as a result. S&J Supply quickly outgrew this facility.

In 1990 S&J Supply made the first of two relocations within La Mirada. Each facility being significantly larger than its predecessor. In 1995 Steve Nieto left S&J Supply. Jim Wakefield as President along with Vice President Daniel Finnerty led the company forward. Along with what was now a growing number of outstanding teammates. Each of S&J’s larger La Mirada locations quickly proved inadequate. The millennium brought about the need for further expansion. S&J had inventory strewn over 3 different locations at the end of its La Mirada tenure. More of everything was needed.

After a 2-year search. In February 2001. S&J Supply moved to its current location in Santa Fe Springs. Home at last? Parkson was in Santa Fe Springs. S&J Supply Company now occupies over 4 acres. A prototypical if not ideal facility for pipeline material sales. Expansive yard for pipe, valves, and fittings coupled with a 15,000 square foot warehouse.
